Though yesterday was actually the first day of 7th grade for Cullen - he takes some science and technology classes at Timothy Ministry in Woodstock every Tuesday, which he thoroughly enjoys - here are some photos of his first day working at home this year. The school room has been updated to better suit a preteen, but it still has the fun, zany vibe we both enjoy. (You can see photos from a few years ago
here.)
Our day is not done, so if you'll excuse me, I have a discussion awaiting on mood, tone, and suspense in "The Tell-Tale Heart" by Edgar Allen Poe. Fun stuff!

I love your room!
Thanks, Jamie! I love your whole house!
I was wondering what you will be using for math curriculum this year? I noticed you used thinkwell grade 6 last year. We are finishing up thinkwell grade 6 & I was trying to decide to continue it or move onto something else for pre-algebra. Love your school room! :)
Sorry that I missed your comment earlier, mebe! We are using Singapore Discovering Mathematics 7 this year. I love the Singapore approach. While Thinkwell's math is a great program, Cullen prefers discussion over viewing video instruction. At this level, I can still manage (with a little refresher work ahead of lessons)but will need to go to video-based or a classroom for math above the middle school levels.
Thank you!
